Tracking Fitness Leads to REAL Weight Loss - How to Use a BodyBugg and Other Fitness Devices

Being unhealthy is not just an information problem, it is a motivation problem. If I can change how & what people think about, I can help them change their lives. Just teach them what to do, and I have only added to list of things they already know they "should" be doing. Don't "should" on yourself! Change the way you play the game.Learning more about what is happening to your body, on a day to day basis, can be just the motivation some people need to make the critical difference. There are many products available to help you track your fitness, so many that it can be overwhelming. One simple product would be a pedometer. These devises are cheap and effective. They track the number of steps you take. The recommendation for good health is 10,000 steps a day. By creating an awareness of your daily movement, you can begin to see your progress and then make choices based on that information.Another tool would be a heart rate monitor. They can be used to see if you are working in your target heart rate zone as well as assessing your recovery heart rate. Knowing this information can push you to work smarter not harder. Heart rate monitoring is important for making improvement in the way your heart and lungs function.Products such as the BodyBugg and GoWear fit are comfortable, convenient, continuous body-monitoring products that can measure physical activity and calories burned with a high level of accuracy. Different from the above products, these are lifestyle and calorie management systems. What are these contraptions, and are they worth it? As one user stated, "Absolutely, it is worth it! It is not super cheap, but the long term cost of extending your life is worth it." When you consider the other things you spend money on such as haircuts, manicures, tanning, eating out, and health and beauty products, the price of $100 to $300 is not that unreasonable IF you use it to change your life. How do they work? Well, you wear them as an armband. They have sensors that gather information and measure the calories you are burning. This information can then be uploaded to your computer and saved in your online profile. When you login, you are able to see exactly how many calories you burn during specific activities. It also keeps a running total to let you know the number of calories you have burned for the day.You will know how many calories you need to burn to counteract your calorie intake. Knowing exactly how many calories you burn in real time, can guide you to make smarter decisions. Having this information makes your efforts more convenient and easier to understand. It allows you to make informed choices about your own health. This is something that many people find difficult to do on a consistent basis.Knowing how close or how far you are to your goals, allows you to make more plan-focused choices. You are in control and will get instant feedback on the results of your choices. By taking the information you have gathered, you can decide what further choices need to be made in order to meet your daily goals. Most people know what to do, but simply don't hold themselves accountable to do it. The instant feedback provided by this technology can make your weight loss and fitness efforts more tangible. You can stay on track without wondering if what you are doing works or not. Before you decide to buy one of these devises consider that you must be very consistent and take the time to enter your foods in the on-line menu. If you want to improve your eating habits, it is necessary to keep track of the calories you are eating. It can be time consuming, but knowing the results of your efforts should make it worth it.On average it takes about 5-15 minutes daily, depending on your speed with the menus. When you eat the same things often, it will become even easier. You can track only exercise or calories burned, but the nutrition aspect gives you the best picture of your progress. The bottom line is, if you need accountability and something to help you see the fruits of your labor, then I highly recommend you try one of these devises to help you stay on track. The instant feedback and accountability could be the difference that makes all the difference!

Yoga Diet, What You Should Know

A Yoga Diet is not about dieting or about how many calories are in foods or any of those things. This diet is about eating for the nurturing of the spirit and the nourishment of the body. It is about the way food has an effect on you, whether it makes you feel on top of the world or really sad, tired and sick or energetic and well. There are five principles to yoga and one of these is the diet. The diet has what is known as the three Gunas, these are nutrition, yoga and healthy living. Generally when looking at what the diet is, it is based on vegetarianism. The advanced yogi often abides by a vegetarian diet.A vegetarian diet needs a lot of research by beginners because it has to balance the lack of protein in the diet, there can be a loss of important vitamins and minerals, amino acids and numerous other things. A deficiency of vitamin B12 and iron can lead to anemia in a vegetarian based diet, so it is important to do research, and understand how the body interacts with what is in foods and to know deficiency symptoms when they arise. The vegetarian diet might say to eat beans and pulses, being for protein, but will everyone abide by this or leave them out because they do not like them. These are some of the traps. A vegetarian diet is ideal as long as it is strictly followed, otherwise eat with more balance, plenty of fruit, vegetables, cereals, meat and less junk food. The diet is suitable for all kinds of people from vegetarians, meat eaters, those with a gluten and wheat intolerance, those with digestion problems and others who have allergies. The food eaten is a highly nutritious combination. It is for people who want to live their lives in a more healthy way and it is a diet for helping to improve the mind and give strength to the body. It is based on a diet which has been used for thousands of years. It is meant to help to a path of enlightenment and long living.

Stop Skin Picking With Hypnotherapy

Compulsive Skin Picking, or dermotillomania, is a condition the can seriously impact on an individual's personal and work life. It can affect anyone and at any time. What may well begin as an apparently innocent activity - an attempt to deal with minor irregularities and skin imperfections - can all too soon turn into a compulsion that leaves the individual feeling powerless and confused. The individual who consistently picks at his or her skin can spend long periods engaged in this activity and this can have a truly negative impact on their work and social relationships. In severe instances, this often poorly understood condition can result in severe skin damage leading to actual disfigurement.Usually, the person suffering from this compulsive disorder repeatedly scratches, picks, rubs or digs their nails into the skin. Quite often this condition can be triggered by stress and unresolved emotional difficulties such as anxiety, grief or simple boredom.Modern thinking on CSP or dermotillomania is that it belongs to a group of disorders known as Body Focused Repetitive Behaviours or BFRBs. Other conditions belonging to this group are such things as chronic nail biting and compulsive hair pulling. It is important that anyone engaging in compulsive skin picking consult a medical doctor so that any possible medical condition can be eliminated. This is necessary in order to make sure that the skin picking activity is a separate issue and not a symptom of some other more serious underlying disorder such as an autoimmune or developmental problem. Many people find that they begin to pick at their skin during a stressful period in their lives. The individual learns, through repetition, that by picking at the skin they can exercise some degree of control or at least distract themself from the underlying difficult feelings and emotions. And so the skin picking becomes a habit.Others may have started picking at skin following some kind of skin disease or injury. As the wound to the skin begins to heal a scab forms which can feel itchy. This may cause the person to pick or scratch, and this in turn prevents the wound from completely healing. And this in turn leads on to even more itching and picking as further scabbing occurs.Often the medical response to dermotillomania is to prescribe a Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor such as Prozac. Though this approach has had a degree of success, it works only on the symptoms. It does absolutely nothing about the underlying causes or drivers.Other approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy, including Habit Reversal Training (HRT) which aims at identifying triggers and teaching the individual coping strategies. This approach has also had some success, but again, it focuses on managing the actual symptoms, rather than dealing with the real underlying drivers and cause. In the opinion of this therapist, a more effective approach is to uncover the actual causes and drivers of the skin picking through the use of advanced and skillfully applied hypnotherapy techniques and strategies. The dermotillomania is being driven by subconscius urges, so it is to the subconscious mind itself that we need to turn if we are to bring about a solution to this harming behaviour.Once the underlying reasons and drivers for the dermotillomania have been uncovered, the subconscious mind can be helped to 're-programme' itself and the skin picking simply becomes extinct or replaced with a more helpful anxiety or stress release strategy. If you or someone you care about suffers from compulsive skin picking, picking at skin or dermotillomania, and you really do want to stop skin picking, do not despair, help is available. With modern advanced hypnotherapy you can end compulsive skin picking, regain control and live your life free of this debilitating habit.

Do's and Don'ts For DIY Brides

Do It Yourself brides are on the rise, especially in this economy. Women still want the wedding of their dreams but are realizing that the price tag does not fit the budget. As a result, many of them are rolling up their sleeves, heading to Michaels and doing a lot of the leg work themselves. But before you reach for your hot glue gun, read my tips for diving into a DIY wedding:DO remember your guest count. Before you take on a project think of how many people you are making them for. Details like programs, menus, favors increase as the guest count does. You can get away with making one per couple for the aforementioned but with a 200 person wedding comes 100 favors that need gluing, tying and assembling and after #57 you may want to throw those ribbon wrapped box of chocolates across the room.DON'T forget it all adds up. When I was little there was a store in my neighborhood called "Cheap John's." I don't know who John was but boy did he have cheap stuff. My mom and I would go pile things in our basket exclaiming "It's only a dollar, get 2!" Wouldn't you know that the total was almost always over $100? We tend to forget the grand total when we are lured with a great bargain. But keep a tab on your "cheap" buys and ask yourself if the sum of it all would make more of an impact on something like lighting or larger flower arrangements.Do gather help. If you are going to take on one or more projects to make your day perfect then enlist the help of your bridesmaids. Just know there will be those who jump at the opportunity to let their inner Martha Stewart shine and others who would prefer root canal to tying little ribbons on tulle packets of rice. However, everyone can play a part and the best way to get them all together is to have fun with it. Get a few bottles of wine, order your favorite take out, play great music and have some laughs; not only will you get your project done faster but you will have some great memories that last forever!Don't take on more than you can chew. Placing a bunch of roses in a vase in one thing, making a 4 foot tall centerpiece is another. Know your limits and ask yourself if this project will make or break your wedding. Furthermore, make sure your expectations match your skill level. You pay of what you get and high price tags are usually attributed to the work and expertise that goes into it; keep that in mind when you are replicating a centerpiece you saw on Platinum Brides.Do your homework. Magazines and the internet are great resources for Do it Yourself projects. Youtube is a wonderful tool for learning just about anything. Another great resource are the experts. Many wedding professionals are available for Q&A on wedding websites, blogs and even at showcases. Don't be afraid to pick their brain, the worst they can say is that they are uncomfortable sharing insider tricks.DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF Last but most importantly is to remember that a wedding last a day and a marriage lasts a lifetime. No matter how many projects you tackle or how much money you save a wedding is a celebration of love, family and friends.
